Pablo will graduate from high school next week. In high school, he has been in several plays, a musical, done stand-up comedy, improv comedy , emceed a number of events from talent shows to fundraisers to Quidditch tournaments. Pablo co-hosted his own morning announcements show at school. He has also performed with Drop Three, an imrov comedy troupe in Baltimore. In short, he is talented, funny, and at home on any stage and behind any microphone. But not until sophomore year. What happened between freshman and sophomore year? The Baltimore School of Rock. Before SoR, Pablo had never been on any stage behind any microphone in his life. Not choir, not talent shows, not church, not anything. SoR has been the single most influential extra-curricular activity in his life. It gave him a voice and a confidence that I could never have imagined. He learned so much from SoR and made life-long friends. School of Rock opened Pablo up to a part of himself that even he did not know was there. To Baltimore SoR, thank you, thank you. thank you. For everything.
